I am liaising with a courier company who will be able to deliver the food on the same day it is baked. Once this is confirmed, I will be able to offer our products in other areas of the North Island.

Yes. We have a dedicated gluten-free kitchen so that only gluten-free ingredients and products are stored and prepared in that space.
Bread, classic and seeded loaves, fruit loaves, bread rolls, focaccia, savoury and sweet pastries, biscuits, slices, large and small cakes. There are more recipes that are waiting to be trialed and added to our repertoire.
I was diagnosed with Coeliac disease in 2009 and so I have first-hand experience of what it is like to be sick from eating gluten (for many years) as well as the relief of knowing what the answer is. I am a coeliac who cooks for coeliacs and those with a low tolerance to gluten.
I also buy my flours from wholesalers and have them independently tested each year to ensure they are gluten free (< 3ppm)
The main flours I use are brown rice, sorghum, tapioca, cornstarch, millet and sweet rice and white rice. However I am always trying out new ones to see how they add to the quality of my baking. I incorporate the wholegrain flours in my mixes as they give a better product and more satisfying result.
After much research, trial and error I have made up four different blends:
(a) an all-purpose flour
(b) pastry blend
(c) bread mix
(d) biscuit blend
We don’t currently have a shop. We are operating an online shop for CLICK n COLLECT from our registered kitchen in Hillcrest, Hamilton.
Before the COVID-19 lock down we were on the lookout for a shop space to sell directly to the public 5-6 days a week instead of just at the monthly market.
This has had to be been put on hold until we have the all clear from the Government.
Before Bliss Bakery I owned a catering business . I met clients who were frustrated at the lack of gluten-free products in the market place.
I remember going into a successful café in Auckland and being impressed with the array of sweet and savoury goods. They were beautifully arranged but full of gluten! My vision for Bliss was born. I wanted to offer coeliacs and those intolerant to gluten an experience that not only tastes and looks good but also lifts their spirits. A true Bliss experience!
